September 30, 2023 - Not sure why I opened my last bottle today, but Oh My! Perhaps this is at its peak, but what a peak it is. Even better than my last tasting several years ago. Scent of blueberry wafted out as I pulled the cork. First taste was blackberry and dark cherry. Full-bodied cab-led BDX blend. Eucalyptus jumps from the glass. Great balance and old world characteristics, including restraint and earthiness make this an unexpectedly decadent experience. Long finish with peppery bite. Only downside is a fair amount of sediment. No points taken off for that. Very close to my perfect bottle of wine. Raise a toast to the memory of Gus.

November 5, 2022 - This superbly made Cabernet continues to age well and expresses fine wine characteristics, belying it's age at 14 years. Well balanced cassis, tar and dark cherry notes. A joy to drink by itself or paired with food.

April 17, 2022 - This has evolved well, though perhaps drinks just a bit younger than its years would suggest. Very Napa cab, but in the more balanced, medium to full bodied end of the spectrum. Aromatically expressive, fairly long finish, a LOT of sediment such that decanting is necessary or as I learned, that last glass will be pretty horrid. 92, maybe 93 pts

February 23, 2022 - Pop and pour blind. Clearly a Napa Cab, and 2009s continue to show so well right now. Pretty standard Napa profile of red and black currants, full body, and chewy tannins. Great value!

February 16, 2020 - Sadly my last bottle of this now closed winery, similar to my last note, an excellent red. www.winelx.com
