July 29, 2017 - A few 2011 Turley Zins (Ann and Ray's): Tasted with the 2011 Ueberroth and 2011 Pesenti zins.
Enjoyed this a little more than the two Paso zins. Ripe and rich Turley-style zin but a little more toned down than those two, not showing as much pruney-ness. Some nice flavors but lacking acidic and tannic structure and zin spice - seemed a little soft and flat.

June 1, 2017 - Huge fruit on the nose & palate. Red & black cherries, boysenberry, plum, & raspberry, along with a bit of cola. Jammy.
Well balanced sweet oak on the nose, along with some baking spices, green tea, and tobacco. Mouthfilling on the palate - juicy, plenty of acidity, big fruit richness lasting into a lengthy finish that goes a little biscuity. This is in great shape, and would be rated higher if the fruit-bomby nature was a bit more restrained.
    Popped & poured.

February 15, 2017 - In a wonderful spot right now. Briary raspberry and juicy acidity anchored by tobacco and mocha. Finishes long with licorice and graham cracker. Medium weight and refreshing -- no sign of the 15.5% ABV. Drink or hold a few years.

November 25, 2016 - Spicy and fruity. While I did decant for a couple hours, it was terrific when I first opened it. Detected absolutely no tannins and could drink this all night, if only it was a bottomless bottle.

September 8, 2016 - Bit unremarkable. Good zin, but no wow. Turley's 2011's have been one of my least favorite vintage from them. This was a red fruit core, bit sweet and crushed berry nose. Drink now.
