February 23, 2016 - Tasting again after about 6 months.

Nose of dark red cherries, gravel, earth, savory component. Truffle.

Tastes of bright cherry, cedar, truffle and a bit of spice, not quite pepper at the end.

A nice line of acid holds everything together from start to finish.

February 21, 2016 - Vivid ruby in color, this wine shows pungent aromas of black raspberry, licorice and cherry cola. The mouth feel is firm but silky, adding additional elements of vanilla and wood smoke. The finish is 30+ seconds long of intense dark fruits, supple acidity and pure joy. 14.2% abv.

Purchased for $32US, this wines beautiful aromatics and long finish make it a joy to drink. Wish I had bought more of this beauty.

January 14, 2016 - The Walter Hansel wines always impress. Mouth-filling flavors of ripe cherry, spices and dark tea with damp earth scents. One of the best wines to be found under $40.

November 22, 2015 - My first Walter Hansel and it was fantastic. Very smooth with elegant fruit. Awesome!

September 17, 2015 - Not quite as impressionable as the 2010 but still totally enjoyable and a very well put together wine and so, no regrets (particularly at the price point - $36 w/volume discount). Earthy, dark red fruits with a slightly savory mushroom character - smell and flavors. I could be happy drinking this wine every day. I'm a fan! Probably worth an extra point...and so, I gave it one! :)
