December 15, 2015 - Purple in color. The nose has charred oak, black raspberries, and licorice. On the palate, this is big but the fruit is hard to pinpoint. Like a wall of red and purple fruits. Some spice. Some heat. Not really complex but good. I wonder if it is getting old in the tooth. I imagine this was an oak monster in its youth as there is still plenty, but also plenty of fruit. Good, not great.

January 22, 2014 - ZAP Trade Tasting. Nose of leather, spice, dark fruit, touch of cassis, and white pepper, more of the same on the palate, smooth, supple, delicious, medium body, and a long finish. For $35, a buy and one of my top 3 Zinfandels today.
