February 20, 2014 - Opened the screw cap an hour before tasting. Poured into the glass an inky purple. The nose was grape jolly rancher, blueberry, wet earth, smoke, oak and tar. The pallet was full and slightly acidic with fine tannins. Blueberry, cherry, smoke, pepper and new car tire. There is some oak treatment but it's not overdone. Overall, a nice drinking wine. I can see this could be pleasing to a crowd.

June 25, 2013 - The color is dense and inky purple. The smells are tar, blueberry, mint, and espresso. The tastes are soy, blueberry, saline, tart cherry, and some earthy notes. The wine seems a bit thin for this varietal and there is unexpected acidity while unexpectedly light weight tannins with a shortish finish. A good daily drinker, but a little tart.
