Community Tasting Notes 21

  • americanstorm Does not like this wine:

November 20, 2023 - This was terrible. A recent addition to my cellar and either this didn't have a good storage history, something the seller claims is not the case, or this has aged terribly. Either way, while not totally undrinkable, it was poured down the drain because life is too short to drink bad wine.

November 7, 2021 - Wow, this is outstanding! Although there are some tertiary aromas with sweet liquorice and leather, the overall impression is very fresh with some flowers and a hint of menthol. Similar notes on the palate, along with a good acidity and smooth but firm tannins. Long, complex and very drinkable. Do I have to say this was a great match with osso bucco and forest mushroom risotto?

September 13, 2020 - Pop and poured at the end of a lot of drinking. Felt like something was off with this bottle. Others liked it but I was ambivalent at best. If this was not an off bottle this has not aged very well. Definitely not worth the 68$ price point.had a lot to drink by the time I got to this but I don't think that colored my judgment.

May 4, 2019 - Half hour decant, Rose, leather and a touch of spice on an outstanding nose. Licorice and cherry plus other things I can't identify on the pallet. Great mouthfeel and long finish.
A little blue cheese seemed to make this explode with flavors. Tannins are very fine and well integrated. A really nice barolo that is drinking very well. I thought it fairly priced for the quality it delivered. 94+

October 27, 2018 - Decanted 3 hours. Brick red color. Cherries, leather, some complexity. Medium to long finish.
