February 18, 2024 - Adventures in Ginza: Dauvissat has been incredibly variable for me in that they are either corked/premoxed or great. Looks like fellow vinos have also felt this way, just looking at all CT reviews.
This was thankfully an example of the latter. Color slightly alarming when poured into glass but a quick reminder that this is a 1996 assured me that proof is in the pudding/tasting. Chrysanthemum, hazelnuts and popcorn dominate the bouquet with yellow peaches, bruised apples, barley and rice more apparent on the palate. Great concentration of fruit albeit slightly waning and high acidity typical of the vintage still made for a lovely drink! -

September 4, 2020 - Clear amber/gold. Rich nose, honey, brine, something lactic, butter and lemon curd. Soft briny apple, apricot and lemon candy flavours. Finishes dry and a bit salty.
Definitely very complex and developed. I guessed Chenin Blanc. Served blind before the Raveneau from the same vineyard and vintage. -
