March 29, 2024 - This came out of a magnum so it was so incredibly fresh from the first pour. This needed a lot of air and just kept getting better and better. There were layers of apricots, citrus, pineapples, a gentle fuel driven nose but not overpowering. This kept unfolding with more air and was so beautiful. I will certainly consider decanting this next time.

August 13, 2021 - Note of yellow fruits and minerals. Lean but complex, and with a spine of firm acidity. Very long finish.

June 7, 2020 - Tasted blind, this wine had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose put forth lemons, marzipan, apple pie, and white stone.

In the mouth, this wine was quite rich and ripe with huge acidity and outstanding length. It was absolutely gorgeous.

This seemed more like a fantastic Batard than a Chablis. Personally, I greatly enjoy the fruit orientation of Preuses. I know this wine can be spotty with some pre-moxed bottles. However, when you get one that is not poxed it is absolutely stunning. Drink over the next 5 years or so.

December 24, 2016 - From a bottle purchased on release, this wine had a medium yellow center with clear rims. The high- intensity nose offered up white stone, lemon, oyster shell, almond paste, and apples.

In the mouth, this wine was quite crisp with great richness and outstanding length. While still a bit tight (even after 5 hours in a decanter), it was clear that this wine had lovely balance. This vineyard tends to be much fruitier and more forward that Le Clos. However, the crisp 1996 vintage has balanced these elements and created a masterpiece.

This wine still seems a few years away from its drinking window. Give it more time if you can (and if your bottle shows no signs of darkening). It will easily last 10-15 years. This bottle showed no hint of the pox. It was a great wine that is likely to pick up a point or two.
