Community Tasting Notes 3

November 19, 2015 - Tasted at Rendezvous by Kerry Wines, Hong Kong. 197 wines. We managed to sip 32 in two hours. Hard work…but happy to roll up our sleeves, exercise our swirling wrists, put on our wine spectacles, clear our noses and cleanse our palates….we do what we can to make the world a better place!!!

Light greenish yellow on the eye. Aromas of green apples. Crisp, fresh and lively on the palate with a Bruno Mars tiny structure. Tangy finish. We understand the winemaker was seeking to achieve a more mineral-like wine as opposed to our preferred toasty oaky Chardonnays. He achieved the objective so if that is your sip, go for it as great QPR. Yet again, this is the cocktail party wine with which we have no problem sipping a glass, possibly two, without having to tell porky pies (aka lies) to the host about why we are not drinking. A well-made, relatively easy sipping wine that does not offend the hors d’oeuvres of the evening, but does not inspire a call to our wine merchant to acquire a case.

November 8, 2013 - Smells of honeysuckle, green melon, some orange zest and perfume notes, it all comes together quite nicely. Like whipped honey on the palate, but the acid sings all the way through. All sorts of melon flavors, mixed in with white flowers, honeycomb and nougat. There’s a sour-sweet note that reminds me of green apple Airhead candies, as strange as that may sound. Still, ends up as a clean and focused Chard, and it opens up a lot with air.

September 26, 2013 - Lime and tree fruit. No malo. Oak doesn't show overtly, just some palate textural creaminess. Bright style, crystalline.
