March 24, 2024 - Straight into my veins. Gorgeous riesling performing at a still-youthful peak level. A little deeper in tone with the yellow shades than this was on release, but not any deeper than many *other* rieslings are on release. It's succulent with creamy pineapple giving it lusciousness and green apple and a chalky, talc-like texture hitting the high notes. Sweetness is more spatlese than auslese by modern standards but it finishes dry and refreshing and you can drink it all night without the sweetness making it taxing.

January 9, 2017 - Drank over two days. Seems shut down on day one and initially on day two (a mostly full bottle having been stored in the fridge), consistent with Keith Levenberg's note from March 2015; pleasant but simple appley/peachy fruit and light petrol. But left open at room temperature for three hours on day two, it finally becomes more expressive, with lovely lime, flowers, and minty herbs developing. Still, quite soft and demure compared to the 2014 right now.

July 29, 2015 - Casual Cabernet Franc: Slate, pine nuts and apple. The person that brought this talked about it being a more "old-school" Auslese, with held back sweetness and I really agree. Clean acidity and you can taste the purity and minerality of the fruit. A lovely wine that displays brightness and poise.

March 28, 2015 - After a few bottles of this I could have sucked down like a Big Gulp, this one has found itself in a dumb state and I think the wine is now best left alone for awhile. Most of the personality has receded and it's not showing much more than pale, slightly sweet fruit.

February 25, 2015 - Lime, flower, herb, petrol, and wet stone aromas; expressive, fresh, clean and focused. Delicious, peachy-limy, with moderate sweetness perfectly balanced by acidity. Silky but almost weightless. Lingering stony minerality. Nice!
