  October 23, 2021 - Prior bottle was 18 months ago and this wine has evolved quite positively in that time. Nose is now mostly tropical fruit notes, particularly mango, papaya and pineapple. Medium bodied with apple and peach upfront, quickly evolving to the intense and complex mix of tropical notes that I recall from my prior bottle (pineapple, papaya, mango and kiwi). Tart orange, lemon and even a bit of lime on the backside and through the finish. Still shows lively acidity, but it has integrated a bit with the fruit, but given that this has led to additional complexity, the current balance is well worth the trade-off. Should continue to drink well for a number of years to come, but the cork issue that a prior reviewer noted is something to watch out for.

  April 12, 2020 - Prior bottle was nearly two an a quarter years ago and the wine has improved along the lines I'd hoped in that time. A combination of apple and peach along with a wide variety of tropical qualities on the nose. Medium bodied with golden apple and peach upfront and then just an immense burst of tropical notes including pineapple and kiwi. Tart orange and lemon notes, coupled with still quite vibrant acidity and good tartness, lead into mineral notes on the finish. Mid-body of this wine was noticeably more expressive, now that the acidity and fruit are in better balance. I love the acidity in young rieslings, but that moment in a wine' evolution where the acidity has integrated just enough to reveal the underlying complexity is a special point that I was very pleased to experience today. Now wish I had bought a lot more at this price. With one bottle left, I will hold it until at least Q2 2021 and perhaps a good occasion.

  December 25, 2019 - Similar tasting experience with the bottle consumed over Thanksgiving. Served a bit colder this time around, so while it still leans flabby there was a modest improvement on the palate.
  
  All of the bottles (4) purchased had poor cork sealing with corks soaked through and leaking into the foil. Shipped in cool weather and stored horizontally in temperature and humidity controlled environment since release. My advice is to keep an eye on these and watch for leaks.

  November 28, 2019 - Opened to serve with Thanksgiving dinner. Aromatically presents d’Anjou pear, lemon zest and citrus fruits, butterscotch, and a faint petrol. On the palate this leaned a little flabby given the youth of this wine, and I was hoping for more acidity given the meal diversity. On the palate this does have good sweetness and concentration, presenting lemon zest, pear, quince, and a bit of stony minerality.

  December 25, 2017 - My first bottle in almost three years (prior was January 2015) and this remains young and firmly on an excellent, long-term upward trajectory. Floral notes, lots of orchard fruit and a tart orange quality on the nose. Medium bodied (8.5% ABV) and opened at 44F (which was far too cold, warming to 50F and showed better on that end of the range. All orchard fruit upfront (peach, pear, melon and apple) with incredible intensity and depth through the middle. There's lots of acidity here, but there's so much fruit as well that the wine shows as rich, but structured with a lot of complexity. Grapefruit and tart orange shows up in the background along with the first tropical hints. The acidity, tartness, mineral notes and especially the citrus qualities linger long on the finish. As impressively as this wine shows today, once it truly opens up as well as develops the fruit-acidity integration, it has even higher future potential. I love the drive, richness and intensity of these young spatleses and luckily have enough bottles that it doesn't truly feel like I'm drinking them too young. I will be patient for my next bottle and save it until early 2020.
