November 4, 2013 - Picked this up the other day. Generally a huge fan of what the folks at 90+ are doing but wasn't impressed with this bottle. I've been drinking a lot of Barbera lately and this one felt much too "americanized" for what the topicity of Barbera should be. At 14.5% alcohol, too hot, heavy on the palate and thick after about 30 minutes open. Dark berry fruit like plumb and compote raspberry and finish and palate of chocolate mousse, cocoa. Lacked the earthy tones, soft and acid red fruit i expect and crave from Barbera. Felt clearly manipulated for the american palate. Wouldn't buy this one again...much better authentic Barbera out there for the same price with better markers.
