Community Tasting Notes 5

June 11, 2015 - Dry, structured with stony minerality and medium+ acidity. Hints of stone fruit, tropical fruit and lime on both the aromas and palate but both are mostly wet rock. Actually surprised the mineral notes aren't more prevalent from a structural standpoint given how prominent they are on the nose and palate. Don't hesitate to open one now but no rush given its structure.

February 16, 2014 - Didn't also have the "high sulfur" bottling for contrast, and in fact this was my first Clemens Busch, so no comparisons there. Dang, this was a supremely refreshing drink! Sure it's zippy/racy, but we also found it pretty gulpable, like water from a mineral-rich Alpine spring. I was more aware of the minerality and sheer refreshment than the fruit per se, but "apple-ish" sounds right in retrospect. Found an eighth teaspoon of grape seeds at the bottom of the bottle: I guess it's unfiltered.

December 12, 2013 - Very dry with tons of acid. Softened a bit over four days. Seems like a great oyster wine.

November 25, 2013 - Nice nose; Delicious crisp fruit

November 23, 2013 - Older Reds and a Younger White: It attacks with acidity, then pale honey, lanolin, a squeeze of lemon and peary, applely fruit fills in behind, both lean and rich at the same time. Not a wine for the acid-averse, but as a fan of tartness, I enjoyed it quite a bit. With more air, the fruit continued to expand, buffering the acidity.
