August 11, 2011 - Top shoulder fill. Cork removed in three large pieces. Decanted and served. Clear blood-brick red, darker than expected, becoming darker and more vibrant after 30 minutes. Bouquet was initially musty -- like climbing into a stuffy wood attic filled with ancient mildewy leather-bound books. The mustiness diminished over time but did not disappear completely. After 30 minutes, the bouquet was like pine forest floor, with dried red currants. Distinctly tart on the palate, with notes of red berries, sherry, and bitter quinine.

February 20, 2011 - What can I say. Way past its prime. Drinkable but not enjoyable. Just an experience to drink a 42yr. old wine.
