February 8, 2024 - PNP but decided to quickly decant as there was plenty of sediment. On fire within 10 min with sweet dark blue fruit aromatics, Asian spice and some earth and cigar wrapper. Beautifully balanced and smooth with a soft medium texture (almost reminiscent of a well aged modern CNDP but cleaner and with more mineral and less body). This bottle had a lovely finish which was broad and slightly mineral tinged. This has aged very well and seems to be at a perfect point for max enjoyment. Well cared for bottles should hold out in this plateau for a few years. 2nd night slightly less fruit with a tinge of red fruit added and more secondary flavors and Umami. Held out well (on gas).

October 23, 2021 - From magnum. Fairly deep garnet core, semi-opaque, with noticeable bricking. Nose of sarsaparilla, Asian plum, blueberry and baked bread. Full-bodied, surprisingly youthful and somewhat chewy on the palate, yet with strong umami notes in the background (beef broth and shiitake). The acidity remains balanced, and there are still unresolved tannins (there was almost no sediment in the bottle!) lurking in the background, though they are soft and inviting. Long length. In magnum, I really think this will hold up well for a few more years, though I doubt there is any upside potential. Really lovely.

September 13, 2011 - Nicely evolved Grenache. A bit rustic and dusty, but I like that. Aromatically there is a lot going on. Drink now.

January 6, 2010 - Strawberry and cherry aroma. Strawberry and chocolate on the palate. Rather fruity with some sweet spices. Already quite soft. Seems just past peak. Still a pretty good drink now but best to drink up.

October 24, 2008 - Deep ruby color, slightly tending towards garnet. Loads of sweet tobacco on the nose, with complex, pungent aromas of spice, plum and black cherry. Full bodied on the palate with good acidity and fine tannins; good presence. Very nice.
