May 13, 2017 - Bright acidity on this wine -- nice for a fairly big California Chardonnay. Bright but clean fruit, subtle oak, some lemon and tree fruit in the flavors. Very good.

February 12, 2016 - Delish! Rich and flavourful. A food wine. 14.5% $22 for half bottle.

November 26, 2015 - Rich buttery Chardonnay. Great depth of flavour and persistency. Just felt a little flabby after 2nd glass.

November 6, 2015 - P n P. Rich, oakey Californian Chardonnay. Needs more time--maybe a year or two to soften the oak bite. For now, only very good, but I can imagine this improving. Hold.

July 13, 2015 - Slow o'd for an hour, and followed a small glass over about 1.5 hours. I liked that this wine showed some restraint - for a Ramey. Great balance of fruit, oak, acidity and minerality. It does drink like a sunshine state Chardonnay, and yet remains well balanced. Butterscotch on the mid-palate followed by a lot of acid on the finish. It's interesting that I've enjoyed the 2008 and 2011 RRV's more than the supposed "good" years.
