December 4, 2016 - Aging this a couple years definitely did not hurt. Still complex and luscious. Drink them now, though.

    August 8, 2014 - Color: Golden Straw
Nose: Citrus, green apple, with subtle peach and oak
Palate: Great balance of creaminess and acidity
Finish: Medium bodies long lasting silky smooth finish
Thoughts: We are so glad to see that Mondavi has joined the rest of Napa and not making over oaked Chardonnay's. We had stopped drinking them, but what are doing now they are outstanding. Mondavi did a great job on this one and glad we have a few more in the cellar. Found out that the 2012 Reserve has been sold out already, bummed we didn't get any.

April 20, 2014 - Appearance: Clear, bright & pale lemon in colour.

Nose: Clean, medium aroma intensity, aroma characteristics cover toasted butter, crisp buttered pastry scents, ripe pineapple, green melon & lemon juice, baked cooking apples with a touch of vanilla. Developing.

Palate: Dry, medium (+) acidity, high alcohol, medium (+) body, medium (+) flavour intensity, flavour characteristics of buttered ripened pineapples, green melon with white pepper, baked red apples & vanilla spices. Texturally the wine has a prolific creamy, mouth-coating viscosity which leads to complex medium (+) finish.

    Quality Level: Very good

Reasons for assessment: Texturally complex viscosity, the body of wine is balanced and integrated with the acidity & finish, flavours are ripened and concentrated, however I think the alcohol is too generous & should be more delicate.

Level of readiness for drinking/potential for ageing: Can drink now but has the potential for ageing.

Reasons of assessment: It displays a premium quality & structure shown in wines with the potential to age. Specifically with the clear methods of MLF barrel fermentation, displaying typicity of region.

November 30, 2013 - Nice wine. Full flavor but we'll balanced and not over done. Good acidity. Distinctly CA flavor, but in proper balance / proportions
