Community Tasting Notes 22

February 20, 2023 - Subtle brilliance. The nose was cherry and herb notes. Color still garnet red, no bricking. Mouthfeel is very smooth, tannins well integrated at this point, hint of menthol. This is a great time to drink this bottle, and would recommend to enjoy now.

October 21, 2022 - Popped and poured. A little lighter in style than most Sorella vintages I remember. Lighter flamboyant red fruit predominates on the palate, despite the 11 years of age. Easy drinking and delicious, and although thoroughly enjoyable, at this point lacks some of the complexity and nuance I'd hope from a wine with 11 years under it's belt. Drinks younger than it's age ... I hope people say the same about me. Have 1 bottle left. 2026+

*Note: Last glass was vacuum sealed and stored in fridge for 5 days. On re-visiting, wine offered much deeper and nuanced flavors and seemed significantly improved 5 days after opening. 90 point score reflects day 1. Last glass on day 5 was in the 92-93 range.

September 8, 2022 - Opened quick decant and back in bottle for slow ox 2 hours. Beautiful Will wine, paired with buffalo style pizza cup and char pepperoni, and crown royal grilled wings.

Very dark in the glass modest aroma dark fruit forward, almost jammy with great mouth feel and coating that yields fairly quickly to the alcohol that dries you up, making you want more. Well balanced tannins and slight acidity. Blackberry, dark cherry, cocoa, and minerally goodness.

Drinking in a good spot now, still primary, maybe a little more time needed in cellar. Not sure though I never keep them around enough to see. 1 year since last bottle had and it improved. 93pts well worth the value

September 4, 2022 - So wonderfully balanced! Modest tannins and acidity frame a palate of Blackberries and dark plums. Really has come into its own. Paired with dry aged rib eye beautifully .

June 24, 2022 - With 11 years of age, this is starting to show some secondary flavor development, with notes of blackberry, cassis, cedar, and earth. Well-balanced and lively, this paired well with steaks at the lake.
