Community Tasting Notes 5

August 21, 2014 - Good dry table wine. A little like a chablis with its acidity on opening, but then it changes character and settles into a more southern french, maritime profile. We liked this wine - nice with a summer chicken dish with garlic, mustard, herbs and onion.

March 3, 2014 - Not much to appreciate at refrigerator temp but as it warms fruits blossom, minerals and some licorice emerge. Quite an interesting white.

November 19, 2013 - Another enjoyable discovery from the South West.

Great nose of aniseed, liquorice, white floral notes, hint of white pepper and Pomelo.

The same flavours were in evidence on the palate (with an extra touch of elderflower and an apple crispness) when at about 10-14 degrees - thereafter it showed signs of becoming slightly flabby and alcoholic. Re-refrigerated for a few minutes and it was back to its best.

Good stuff, went well with roast chicken and Perigord Truffles.

September 9, 2013 - White peach and lemon nose with some herbs and a hint of wool.
Dry and creamy on the medium bodied white fruit palate. Almondy roundness and a minor bitter bite towards finish.
    Nice simple stuff.

September 9, 2013 - Grapey, primary and cidery nose.
Fresh wine with low-alcohol. Primary fruit characters. Juicy.
