  January 16, 2017 - Notes without decanting: Light notes of blueberry and dark fruit. Overall light on flavor, with some charcoal dryness.
  
  Opened up and smoothed out after decanting for 30-60 minutes. The dark fruit came out a bit more, and the sharpness of the charcoal diminished.

  June 21, 2014 - Saturday Tasting at The Gourmet Shop Columbia, SC 6/21/2014 (Gourmet Shop Columbia SC): Had a small taste of this at a local retailer, decided it needed further research, bought a bottle and brought it home to decant. Glad we did, that sample was unable to let the true characteristics of this wine show through. Pouring into the decanter gave a charcoal scented red raspberry and black cherry. Surprisingly, the 14% alcohol never seems to show it's presence. There is a welcome and appreciated, grainy, rustic, mineral component to the considerably vibrant fruit. Looses a little on the mid palate. Plenty of lingering graphite tannins. Fades more toward the finish which leaves an orange peel and citric acid flavor with very ripe red fruit.

  August 19, 2013 - Nothing special, somewhat stewy. Interesting because of its origin. Reminiscent of hot climate, budget wines from Portugal and Italy.
