April 17, 2024 - On the simple side but a nice overall polish to this. Lots of acidity, tart berry fruit, hint of cedar, minimal oak. Good QPR.

June 26, 2019 - Pale purple color. Aromas of vanilla, violets and plums. Dry on the palate with notes of blackberry, boysenberry, black currants, earth, and tobacco. Paired well with ribeye steak smothered with grilled onions and garlic. Drink now.

Disappointing, on the whole. It is lighter than most Cabs, but not interesting or nuanced enough to make me like it.
Decent QPR, I suppose, but compared to some of their other offerings, this Achával-Ferrer is a let down. -

June 24, 2016 - Goods delivered. Notes of berry clusters, cassis with nutmeg, tobacco leaves held together with a great mouthfeel, easy tannins.
