Community Tasting Notes 130

March 4, 2022 - This will be a short note in a big wine. This wine is a combo of my tasting notes on the ‘08, ‘09, ‘10, and ‘11. Bold, 75% CDP and 25% Pinot Noir. Not really a typical Syrah in my mind. Medium plus depth and finish. Nice change from my go to styles.

    January 11, 2022 - Drink now

January 6, 2022 - I was expecting this to be showing its age. Figured I had better drink it before it was too old. Some bricking around the rim. First smell and taste out of the bottle was a bit disappointing. However after about 30 minutes I revisited it. Well I was surprised. There is a pleasant funk with leather nots, black raspberry, fig and a bit of caramel on the finish. Tannins are present and very smooth. Acids are easy but present. Wine is not at all flabby. Needs a long decant. Had the first glass after 30 minutes by itself. The second glass with a hearty stew by the fire. Perfection for a winter evening.

October 30, 2021 - A weird wine-It seemed to have some nice fruit components but something was missing (acid?). Zero tannins detectable. A bit better with food than without but not a really enjoyable wine.

October 11, 2021 - This bottle didn't show quite as well as a previous one...it seems a bit port like and clumsy. Most casual drinkers at the table loved it nonetheless
