  October 31, 2007 - great value. worth the extra dollar for the grand cru. honey and toffee nut and toasty, cut by refreshing creamy citrus. good mouth feel, with bubbles dancing with structure. finish medium, ends on a bright full note.

  August 29, 2007 - Don't you hate it when your favorite N.V. Champagne shows up with a new label? On top of knowing you're most likely going to get a completely different cuvee, you also know it's going to be a few years younger and you lose out on all that free bottle age. So the new Rocourt N.V. with its spiffy new label isn't nearly as exciting as my last batch. This one is more austere and toasty and shows better when it warms up and loses its aggressive bead, at which point it becomes a pretty convincing chardonnay with a nice gravelly finish. Mebbe I'll try to forget the other bottle for a few years.

  December 31, 2005 - Immense character for a non-vintage and very true to Le Mesnil terroir. As the cork pops, the room fills with aromas of honey and toast. On the palate, it's honeyed but well-defined and actually tastes somewhat evolved. A great bridge between young, floral Champagne and something deeper and nuttier. This bottle will be long gone before our guests arrive.
