Community Tasting Notes 4

February 12, 2022 - Mid gold to slightly copper color.

Floral nose, beeswax, peach skin, sea spray.

Mid weight palate that opens tart carries through to sweet white peach on the mid palate with some wet stone and honey, and finishes up with assertive lime juice acidity. Quite a lot of everything here.

Mature at this stage. Drink up.

April 25, 2018 - Powerful wine. Assertive with a lot of acidity. Divided people a little but I thought this impressive if threatening to be over-bearing.

May 12, 2015 - Negociants Australia New Release Tasting: Peach, pear and spice. The palate seems good initially but it cuts out really early and leaves a little bit of a bitter taste behind. I wondered if it might have a cork issue but a second bottle was the exact same.

September 17, 2013 - Dry River Tasting (Caros Wines, Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand): Light straw. Slightly dumb, mineral chardonnay fruit aromas. Tight and acid lightly oaked style in the manner of chablis (but with brighter and sharper acids). In the mouth, pretty simple but a very strong malic acid profile suggests this may repay cellaring. 82+++
