March 24, 2020 - Exact same experience as the dude below. Saw at costco for 40 bucks and powerless to resist. It was chalky and the fruit was mostly pear and apple. Not sure of the cepage but seemed chard flavors dominating. I didn't find this to be 16 years old tasting, so it seemed not too oxidated and taking its age in stride. I just didn't find it to be the most complex or even that much more complex than the regular NV from this producer. But at 40 bucks you could do a whole lot worse.

February 28, 2020 - I ran into a wine trade friend at Costco yesterday and he encouraged me to try this vintage Brut Champagne for $39.99.
The nose reveals; overripe & slightly sour, pineapple, green & golden apple, bruised Bosc pear, tropical melons, Manila mangoes, white citrus blend, a little white peach & dry apricot, nut skin, almonds, cream, notes of ginger, cream, heather honey, oyster shells, sea fossils & sea spray, some heated grey volcanics, grippy chalkiness with jasmine, yellow flowers/lilies.
The palate shows nice viscosity and a touch gummy or gluey. The mouthfeel is solid, crisp, clean & refreshing. Overripe & slightly sour, pineapple, green & golden apple, bruised Bosc pear, tropical melons, Manila mangoes, a little white peach & dry apricot, grapefruit with some pith, lemon & lime zest, nut skin, almonds, cream, caramel, vanillin, notes of ginger, cream, melted butter, heather honey, some root beer characteristics, oyster shells, sea fossils & sea spray, some heated grey volcanics, grippy chalkiness with jasmine, yellow flowers/lilies. The acidity is refreshing, zippy with crispiness. The long finish is rich, slightly sweeter than I like, nicely balanced and nicely persistent.
He did say don’t over chill this and it does get better as it warms. However, for us, this falls deeper into the oxidative realm which; is not our preference. -

September 5, 2014 - Nuts mixed with apples, leaning towards nutella. Slighly vineous and a little bit too sweet. Drink well chilled.
Not very complex, but easy to like.
No improvement day 2, which could indicate that it's time to drink up.1 person found this helpful Comment -

March 19, 2014 - Impecable, tiny, bubbles, creamy and a with a very good mix of citrus and apples and with some nuts. Reminds me of Pol Roger brut vintage, but this is sligthly better and a little bit more complex. Lots of champagne for 40 euro.
Even better day 2, with early signs of complexity. Close to 93 pts. -

December 25, 2013 - A very different champagne this time, although only circa 6 months has passed since my previous bottle.
The minerals are still appearant in the background, but only slightly so. Now the focus is on the red/green apples mixed with citrus. The cream is quite alright.
I'm curious on where the apples and the minerals will be in 6-12 months.
