February 14, 2016 - A very elegant sweetness on the nose that translates well, in a non-tiring way, to the palate -- along with a certain lightness unexpected in such a powerful wine. Lively but gentle acidity, quiet tannins, a bit of spicy heat at the finish. It might not offer metaphysical fireworks but this a great safe red no one is able to dislike. Feel free to decant for 3+ hours (although it works well straight from the bottle as well).
