June 16, 2017 - As primary as it can be,a lot better 3 hours after opening,I'm gonna forget the other bottles in my cellar and hope for some evolution as it matures...

September 16, 2014 - Really good wine, full of character.
On the nose, ripe fruit: cherry, black currant, plum. Oak, vanilla, chocolate. Herbaceous, cedar.
Ripe tannins, pronounced flavors on the palate of jam, plum, cherry, blackcurrant, vanilla.

September 21, 2013 - Lacks both power and varietal correctness (even for a Barossa cabernet.) Bad bottle?

April 19, 2013 - In tasting a number of current Elderton releases it was done as part of a blind tasting and included both the estate and super premium releases, needless to say the 2010 Cabernet raised some eyebrows with a number of it's attributes more closely aligning with perception of the more highly priced premium wines.

The wine shows a deep red colour in the glass, expressive dark fruits, highlighted by blackberry are tempered by subtle oak inputs and a touch of mint.

The palate is a great expression of ripe fruit that is given a structure that complements varietal characters, in particular the tannins are fine but firm, oak adds complexity, and the acid structure gives focus to the finish.

This wine is drinking very well now, but will reward time in the cellar.
