December 24, 2021 - Single vineyard Barbaresco was fantastic pairing with Xmas Eve dinner of seven fishes, when white wine was not an option. But the bubbly with antipasto was an excellent choice.

December 10, 2019 - Popped and poured with dinner. This has matured wonderfully. Very smooth right out of the bottle, lots of fruit remaining, but balanced. Long pleasant finish. Wish I had more.

March 10, 2018 - Popped and poured at Legume. Paired with walleye and ono wahoo, worked Better with the ono wahoo than the lighter walleye. Garnet with some brick, typical Nebbiolo color, no real signs of age. Quiet nose out of the bottle that became more expressive with air, some tart cherries, hint of pear, a bit of floral. Robust, full bodied palate, again improving with air. Tart cherries, some earth, spice, good mouthfeel and structure. Long, long finish. I would decant next time.

November 24, 2016 - Medium red and clear with orange rim. Cherry, roses, cocoa, and mint on the nose and palate. Firm and precise mid-palate, with moderate+ fine-grained tannins. Very long and expansive cherry, mint finish. Powerful, well-balanced, and complex single vineyard Barbaresco. (93-94).

July 19, 2016 - Deep red and clear in the glass with some orange hue. Really a magnificent nose with: cherry, cola, roses, caramel, and chocolate. Same notes on palate. Very long cherry, rose, mint finish. Supple yet firm and expansive on the palate.

This bottle was quite a bit more pleasing than the one I had 12/15. More developed, integrated, and certainly softer, but still charged with youthful intensity.

This bottle was very good, even relative to other single vineyard Barbarescos, and exceptional value at < $50/750.

    94-95pts.
