February 3, 2016 - Vibrant minerality and acid. A bit short and disjointed overall. Would revisit in another year.

September 19, 2015 - A beautiful organic Riesling. A lot of people have found this very dry with little residual sugar. I have found that the strong fruit flavours at play add quite a bit of pleasurable sweetness. This sweetness is so well controlled.

Sure, there is a little bit of slate and polished river stones, but it is generally quite acidic and balanced. In fact, it is so balanced that the weight in the mouth is quite unique and lingers for an incredibly long time.

Look, to be honest, it is quite pricey for what you get - all the organic business adds up. However, if you are prepared to pay, it is a great wine.

March 3, 2015 - Clemens Busch Masterclass with Clemens Busch: 50% of grapes that would normally be used in this were lost in 2012. Floral, peach and pineapple. Plenty of ripeness on the palate, the fruit is rounded. Finishes a little short and soft. Only 3 g/l residual sugar, the richness is all from the fruit. Okay only.

July 24, 2014 - Another stunning Riesling from Clemens Busch. Unlike the 'von roten Schiefer', this one is fresher, tasting very nearly dry, and driven by its minerality and fruit rather than acidity. Long length. A delicious contrast and pleasure to drink.

April 5, 2014 - Starts with a lemony and flowery nose, hint of honey. But is totally driven by mineral backbone, overloaded with slates and citrus. Very dry, very clean.
