  March 28, 2014 - Nice, mellow old Volnay. Brick red with hint of brown. Nose of rose petals and mild fruits. Light bodied, delicate wine. Lasted about 15 minutes in the glass then began to slowly disappear over the next hour. Soft, medium lenght finish.

  August 16, 2013 - Burgundy v Bordeaux - Cellartracker (La Trompette, W4): A phenomenal colour, almost pure orange, a nose of pure burgundy with tertiary smells and flavours showing well. No tannins present (although my palate must have been pretty battered by this point) and tasted great

  December 31, 2011 - Straight from popping the cork there was a real strawberries and cream nose coming from this wine. It's quite light bodied, bricked to the core when in the glass, but hold the decanter up and it's crystalline ruby. As it unfolds there is a gentle funkiness that emerges through the soft red berries. In the mouth there are more strawberries and cherries, it's so smooth, then comes startling acidity for a wine of this age, there's so much fruit, some blackcurrant too with a little sous bois and the acidity lasts through a very long finish, very good and elegance personified.
