December 31, 2023 - Absolute stunning. The wine of the evening. At PnP it took like 15 minutes to wake up and then, wow! The complexity in this wine, at this time, is just fantastic. It just keeps delivering from the first impression in the nose until the very last breath of the finish. I kept half a glass throughout the evening and 4½ hours later it still performed excellent. Even that I in the meantime had treated my palate with some extraordinary great red Bordeaux wines (like in example Cos d´Estournell 1985 and Cheval Blanc 1999), the revisit of the Bâtard in the glass was sweeping everything else away. I love Thomas Morey and being flowing him now for more than 15 years, I have to say that this Bârtard 2012 is my best experience with his wines ever, even that I have had some many great wines from him over the last many years. I am so grateful to have opened this bottle at the prime of its drinking window. P96-97+

August 26, 2020 - Waxy apples + lemon. Tropical notes laced with orchard apples and citrus zest with hints of of clove.

February 24, 2018 - Youthful, quite weightless, complex tropical: Durian, jackfruit, quite poised and balanced, even restrained.

January 12, 2016 - Westchester Wine School - Premium Wine Tasting (Bar Lees, Mamaroneck, NY): Drank at WWS tasting. Aromas of peach & apricots, and pleasant freshness. Pale yellow in color. A bit on the dense/lush side, and actually quite viscous. Still very tight & linear, being still quite youthful. Good acidity along with a very definite mineral quality, and excellent length. A fascinatingly excellent wine, that is reminiscent of a new world chard in terms of its weight, but in no other way. This wine needs a lot of time in bottle to realize it's potential, which I believe to be stellar. This has all the makings of a great wine down the road.

May 23, 2015 - Has really tightened up. Quite fine with dense orchard fruits overlaying a strong mineral base. Good volume and intensity and really builds through the finish. Needs plenty of time.
