Community Tasting Notes 10

October 2, 2020 - My first white stones. Interesting typicity that’s unfamiliar to me. Unlike any chard I’ve had. For my taste this is best slightly below cellar temp. There’s a lot going on. When too cold, the lemon/lime aspect overwhelmed the rest of it.

September 14, 2016 - Nice yellow. The nose shows a little vegetal note, lemon and some passion fruit. Palate is also similar. Not a heavy, oily, oaky kind of Chardonnay. Medium bodied. Finish shows an interesting hint of passion fruit like New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. An interesting combination. Enjoyable, but doesn't last long enough.

  • HowardNZ Does not like this wine:

June 12, 2016 - Nick's four wine pairings: To me, a strange bouquet, obviously Chardonnay, but of mint, lolly (slightly confected and sweet) and yellow fruit, with traces of cheese. On palate, clearly rich, ripe, viscous and weighty. 'Sweet mint, almost to the point of anise' said Thierry. Poached pear and clotted cream, seemingly showing lots of battonage in the making. Overall, to my taste, not pleasant. Stephen Tanzer rated this wine 93+ but I couldn't see that, on this tasting ...

July 11, 2015 - A total stunner with massive elegance and a lot of personality. The first sniff reveals deep profound colza adjoined by tropical fruits, minerals and a lovely viscosity. The palate adds integration and close to perfect balance with nothing being over the top and nothing being too little, just perfect harmony. Oak, acidity and fruit all speak out rather vocally but still elegantly. A true gem and without the slightest doubt a masterpiece, the Adrianna White Stones deserves to be tasted given the chance. wow.
