Community Tasting Notes 11

April 27, 2021 - Coffee and plums, but mellowed by time in the bottle. Fantastic with dinner(roast beef and veggies). It is one of those wines that disappears, once food is served, thirst quenching and supporting at the same time. Interesting to see my previous notes stay fully intact. Not exactly breath-taking, but dependable work horse, that bought at the right price, pays to stock up for a decade ahead 89-90p.

June 4, 2020 - Old vines, low yields, 100% tempranillo. Developed nicely, lots of tobacco and coffee, good freshness as well, medium to full body.

May 3, 2020 - Day 2 - Rich and deep nose, lots of dark notes, with a good lick of oak. Initial entry on the palate is velvity smooth, if a little hollow in flavour. The mid palate is dominated by assertive tannins and good acidity. An extreamly long if slightly overly tannic finish. I've come to the conclusion that this is actually a fairly rustic wine, the high tannins and acidity will probably never die down completely, and by the time they ever do, any ligering fruit or other flavours will be long gone. Probably past its best, but not a bad wine, food certianly helps.

August 21, 2016 - 45min double decant. Still very tannic. Needs at least another 4-5 years, but a lovely depth of flavor, and good potential for improvement.

May 27, 2016 - Quite aggressive tannins after opening, needed and hour in the decanter to get accessible. All rounder, blueberries and fruits nicely balanced by the tannin structure, well made and really good one for red meat lovers.
