September 14, 2023 - holding up well. smooth and velvety, fruity nose and palate, very easy drinking

August 11, 2023 - Even in a bad vintage, Dunn makes a nice wine that ages well.

The fruit is very slightly stewed on the nose, but it’s not off-putting. Slight cedar notes too. The palate shows a nice balance of fruit and graphite. Medium-long finish and tannins that are more muted than a Dunn typically is at this age.

No hurry, but very accessible now.

October 1, 2022 - Had not tried a bottle in over 4 years and it is still really nice Cabernet especially when you consider the fact that it was from a tough vintage. Unfortunately the cork broke upon extraction so I let it sit open for a few hours. Dark fruit on the nose. The palate was dark berries, dark plums, tobacco, forest floor and graphite The finish was moderate to long. Served alongside a simple roast on a rainy New Jersey night.

May 30, 2022 - This was so very green, with abundant pyrazine, almost to the point that it wasn’t enjoyable. I haven’t had it in many 11s but this is one to shy away from, and I don’t think time will help. Most people guessed a weedy Loire valley cab franc. The acidity is balanced and the wine has some polish, so I think it can be scored, just not a great vintage.

June 19, 2021 - Popped and poured and enjoyed over the next 3-4 hours. I had low expectations for a 2011, and this definitely outperformed them.

Very dark in the glass. Cocoa powder, cigar box nose. About medium in body, dark licorice, black plums, soft blackberries. Tannins lightly grabbing the lower cheeks, but very drinkable. A nicely balanced wine.

    Drinking very well right now.
