April 18, 2023 - A small impromptu dinner with Paul and Charles (Q by Peter Chang - Bethesda, Maryland): Expressive nose displaying generous fresh red fruit, strawberry, raspberry, mushroom, sweet spices and earth. Very good concentration, generous youthful red fruit, silky and polished, medium acidity, strong earthy mineral, and a medium long sweet red fruit driven finish. Although not terribly complex, this is a very well made wine.

May 6, 2016 - A private lunch (Restaurant Lameloise ***, Chagny, France): Ripe blue fruit, cool minerals, earthy notes, well-judged spicy oak, explosive floral aromatics; there is lovely balance and drive to the well-defined palate, good depth and intensity, with a subtle fleshiness from the ripe fruit, mineral freshness, hint of cream, lovely phenolics from the skins without any dryness, supported by the warmth from the oak, strawberry fruit; lovely length. A very serious Auxey. Drink now until 2026.

May 24, 2015 - Just lovely stuff. Gorgeous ruby red in color. A serious floral nose. Structured and elegant on the palate. Really fun to taste.
