Very straight, chalky, mineral, some lime leaves, almost no fruit, maybe too austere or in a closed stage, later some herbal touch. More chardonnay than pinot noir style. I prefer the 2002 and clearly 1996. We will see the development. 93 -

May 20, 2019 - Foundation Fundraiser Dinner (Petra and the Beast, Dallas, TX): Yeasty aromas with mild oxidative notes, apples, chalk and minerals. Palate continues the mild oxidative notes, nuts, bruised apples, chalk and minerals. Excellent weight, concentration, and complexity.
