  January 14, 2019 - This wine is a bit lame out of the gate but with a 40 minute decant really jumps out with powerful concentration of red sour cherries, smoke, anise, good amount of acid and structure. In my opinion this is a very classic example of a well made chianti and just went so well with some home made pasta.

  November 27, 2018 - Lovely classic Chianti that is aging beautifully. On the nose black cherry, red currant, raspberry with dried rose, thyme, oregano (dried herbs), tomato leaf, wood smoke, leather, underbrush and turned earth. There is also an overarching sweet balsamic, note this does not come off as elevated VA. On the palate this wine is medium body, medium+ acid and medium tannin. The texture is round with a nice linear flavor profile. Long finish and high complexity.

  July 13, 2018 - Drank from Coravin as part of a blind tasting. Medium minus core concentration, developing aromas of dried red cherry and raspberry. Licorice undertones and balanced VA (in a good way). Wet stones and dried red flowers. Flavors on the palate are tart raspberry with a bitter finish. Lots of fresh florals. High acid and alcohol with med+ tanin and a long finish. I also get a bit of blow pop/jolly rancher character. Dave called it 5-8 year old nebbiolo. Not a bad call. Delicious wine in a very good place right now.
