Community Tasting Notes 8

September 11, 2019 - Color: medium-deep ruby core -> fully bricked/garnet rim. Bouquet on PnP showed a lot of sulfer/rubber roti notes (somewhat like the '07 but less obnoxious) but most blew off within 20 minutes. What remained underneath was still a bit roasted with black cherries, plum, a bit of leather, kinda dark. Somewhat rustic palate showing black cherry again, leather, earth --just a bit coarse but still showing Barbera's great acidity. Certainly passable and still holding on with a reasonably long finish but not one of my favourite Dell'Uccellone's. Perhaps a bit past peak. Drink (already or) soon if you still have any.

    May 3, 2014 - good nose--lot of potential--but give this bottle min. 5 years

February 21, 2009 - Still brooding! This excellent Barbera obviously has had loads of sweet fruit which now has evolved showing intense sweet earthy aromas. Truffle and barnyard. Nice!
