August 14, 2004 - I opened this one Saturday afternoon to take up to McCarthy & Schiering and treat the staff. Upon first opening this, I was stunned at how sweet and forward this way with crush blackberry and gravel. However, with more air this showed more animal and leather, gaining a meaty, black-olive infused personality. This was quite lovely really, although my bottle showed some signs of subtle leakage, perhaps from heat damage. Pristine examples are probably showing quite a bit younger and better, although this was pretty charming.

December 21, 1990 - Tasted at Singer & Foy survey of new Rhones. Gorgeous dark ruby color. Deep. Looks luscious. Lovely nose. Beautiful complexity, with plenty of peppery fruit. Really deep and lovely in the mouth; long lasting. Powerful and good. Good stuff. 5-11-15-7: 88/100.
