  March 22, 2015 - PnP through a Vinturi. Boysenberry and perhaps plum aromas. Feels balanced and tastes good. Drank with food with some fat on it. Some heat on the finish. Deep purple color tendings lighter purple at the edge. Drinks well food.

  January 7, 2015 - First Wednesday Wine Group (Coral Gables, FL): My first wine from Virginia. I had read a lot about the wines, and was pleasantly surprised at the tasting. Red fruits and strawberries flavors greet the nose, with vines, earth and oak following behind. Plums and cassis on the palate. Very nicely done.

  December 22, 2014 - This wine is one of the better examples of a Virginia Meritage. It is restrained with flavors of dried strawberry, earth, and leather with a nice, long finish. Stinson is proving to be one of the better wineries in the state.

  August 7, 2014 - Virginia reds are really starting to gain some traction with Meritage. This one is 35% Merlot, 25% Petit Verdot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc. Aged 14 months in French oak. Restrained and soft with an elegant mouthfeel. Cinnamon on the nose. Flavors of red currant and plum. Great vanilla finish.
