• Mild Plaid Likes this wine:

  January 21, 2017 - Round notes of stewed green peppers dominate up front (both nose and palate), and are followed by some bramble-y jam and herbal notes. This has done very well for itself.
  
  Served with some braised beef short ribs. Excellent pairing.

  June 15, 2016 - Pours very dark. Nose is stewed dark fruit (blackberries?) and herbs (rosemary?). Palate leans towards the fruit, with hints of cocoa--the texture shows the smoothness of chocolate as well. Acid is highlighted by food, but present without as well; tannins have almost vanished. Finish is fruity, but not as lingering as I'd like.
  
  I've been aging this a couple of years, and I think we're getting close to the end of its drinking window.
  
  We had this with a dinner of top sirloin and roasted potatoes--this goes very well with the food.

  July 24, 2014 - Smooth tannins, oaky and vanilla. Great steak wine and great for the price. Picked it up for $16-$17 but none of the sweet oak found in cheaper cabs. This will be a go to.
