May 8, 2015 - Blackberry and jam with extremely forward oak. Upon opening the tannins are quite harsh but fade quickly although they never quite integrate properly and the oak is always a bit 'in your face'.
It's very pleasant though - never too heavy. -

January 12, 2014 - Dark red color with good clarity and brightness. The nose is tight requiring considerable aeration to reveal notes of blackberry and jam with a hint of dill. Body is moderate with a surprising amount of harsh green tannins perhaps reflecting the uneven cluster ripening to which zinfandel is prone. This creates a persistent but unpleasantly bitter after. Perhaps a few years in the cellar will ameliorate this to an extent.
