Community Tasting Notes 10

May 20, 2017 - Late Night, After Dinner Blind Tasting (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): Late night, tasted double blind. Correctly identified as New World Chardonnay. Slightly ripe with good overall balance, just enough energy and moderate weight. Nicely enjoyable.

May 20, 2017 - Blinds with friends (Chicago, IL): Pale gold color. A light and airy nose of pear, melons, sea shells and a trace of honey. Acid-driven palate. Fresh and taut. A bit of lemon cream in the finish. I liked this a lot in a Chablis-like style. Young, with upside. Served blind to friends, with many guesses for old world.

May 20, 2017 - Some rainy-day blinds (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. The nose here was a bit aromatic, with some nice sweet green herbal notes. I thought this could have been an aromatic white for a moment, but the palate had acidity that was just classic chardonnay. A very light touch, with not too much oak or malo. Given that the fruit was a bit riper than I'd have expected from white Burgundy, I got as far as calling this new world chardonnay.

June 11, 2016 - Was a tad dull upon opening but with half an hour of air the acidity started to show itself and it really started to shine. Maybe slightly behind the Clos Electrique for my tastes, but great nonetheless. 91+

November 30, 2014 - Not much has changed since my last note.

Great evolution with temperature. Starting cold, pairs beautifully with oysters and scallops. Warming up, fantastic with a light risotto appetizers.
