November 23, 2020 - Our first try with this wine. It is excellent. Cherry, raspberry, blackberry, kirsch, spice, herbs, some tar and tannins. Tasty with the venison curry and the cauliflower curry.
Suggests its QED big sibling needs some more bottle age.1 person found this helpful Comment -

April 1, 2020 - Nine years in, this wine is finally hitting it stride.
It was the perfect pairing for rare wagyu burgers and root vegetable chips this evening.
Boisterously volatile, notes of brown sugar, figs, plums and pine needles fight for primacy on the nose.
In the palate, it feels like things are just now integrating, the sharp edges are starting to round off and everything is composed.
That said, the wine still has plenty of life. The tannins still have the finest grit and the acid is keeping everything fresh, while there is next to no tertiary development.
The flavors remain predominantly fruit, spice, wood and herbal.
Excellent quaffing.
Drink now and hold depending upon your preferences. -

May 27, 2019 - Nice bouquet. Seems a little light and watery. Reminds me more of a pinot noir than a GSM. Great QPR, decently made, just not our preferred style.
