September 22, 2015 - Clear dark yellow in the glass. A true new world, California take on Verdelho. Fruit is definitely ahead of the structure at this point. Fleshy waxy & rich. The aromatic layers which take on a more herbal/floral character certainly enhance the palate & add depth.

While the fruit is out in front, the acid is present and adds some finesse to the wine. This was paired with a chicken & dumpling soup which featured fennel & escarole. Those earthy elements played well off the fruity nature of this. Good stuff, but I'm letting other bottles rest a bit longer.

December 18, 2014 - This is holding up very well. Showed more complexity at room temp rather than cellar temp. Balanced, long. Wish I had more...

October 7, 2014 - I concur with VeniceCalif's notes almost completely. I would note that there was a little hint of waxiness to this. like a Chenin, which threw me off a bit because it lacks acidity. In some ways, reminded me of Falanghina, but not as crisp. Not completely sure I'd buy this again for myself

September 24, 2014 - Taste with Lagniappe at FHE.
Creamy, green and yellow fresh. Lime and spice.

July 24, 2014 - Jon Bonné and "The New California" @ E&R (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): From two vineyards in the Sierra foothills and on the east side of Lodi. Slightly cloudy appearance. Rich aromas, some sulfurous notes but heavy minerality and salinity. Slightly funky rubber and stone fruit. Smells like a volcano erupting. Smooth mouth feel but chalky, chunky notions. Texture is odd, more mineral notes and awkward fruit. Quite spicy finish with off balanced acidic tartness. Not really enjoying the notions left on the tongue after. I need a cracker or something. Strange mineral notes linger.
