Community Tasting Notes 4

June 9, 2009 - Very strong and heavy when first poured, but not unpleasant to drink. Smell was excellent, really felt involved, although very full. Taste was incredibly full on but the tannins were (unexpectedly) nice and smooth. With hindsight could have benefited from decanting and almost certainly should have been drunk earlier. Scored based on actual but could be harsh given reasons explained. Would pick up another vintage to test.

May 19, 2009 - Was just ok, defining feature was aroma and taste of cranberry, nothing memorable here other than that. Thought it was a good pick for a roast chicken dinner where red wine can often be a challenge.

  • VDLT Wine Does not like this wine:

July 14, 2005 - Better than the last but still about the vintage heat.

  • VDLT Wine Does not like this wine:

    November 13, 2004 - Outsized and harsh.
