Community Tasting Notes 4

  • Battersea James Likes this wine: 92 points

February 14, 2021 - Definitely matured. Dark fruit, spice, and leather but with good acidity. Smooth tannins. Good length. Very harmonious. I loved this wine in its youth given it’s power and flavour and whilst this has evolved immensely and become much more subtle, I still love it as much!

March 7, 2020 - Drunk next to a 2008 Cupano Ombrone - much more austere compared to the rich and voluptuous Cupano. However, very well knit and beautiful length. Really enjoyable.

September 2, 2018 - Sweet red fruit on the nose. Beautifully balanced with well integrated tannins. Still lots of fruit with some black pepper on the back end. This is a truly fantastic wine that has years ahead of it.

November 18, 2014 - Muted blackcurrant and chocolate on the nose. Incredibly smooth and voluptuous in taste - very well balanced. Still plenty of tannins with a peppery, long finish and a hint of cedar wood in there. I thought this was a fantastic wine and I am very intrigued to see how this develops over the coming years.
