December 1, 2022 - Beautiful effort. Tannins are perfectly integrated, beautify fruit with dark berries, tobacco, gravel and earth. Hints of black pepper with a hint of garrigue. Great wine!

January 22, 2022 - Deep, dark red. A little Cayuse barnyard on the nose. After 3 hours in the decanter, beautifully integrated. Drinking great with years of life remaining.

January 16, 2022 - Wow, rich and powerful. The fruit just punches you with currants, plums and currants.

December 24, 2021 - This is really drinking well right now. Dark purple fruit with notes of stone and black licorice on the nose. It has a delightful mouthfeel that is warm and rounded. Granite, dark berry, and just a hint of gameyness. A nice wine in its prime.

    December 12, 2021 - Youthful. Fantastic.
Started off with a fruity nose that shortly developed a skunk or cat pee note that wasn't negative.
Palate was dark fruits with a silky texture. After an hour, a spiciness emerged with some chalkiness and the wine became richer in profile.
This wine is fruity but the balance is less toward the fruity side than other Cayuse wines. Also features good minerality and smoky meat notes. Nice structure. This is very impressive. Probably just hitting it's drinking window. This was my only bottles but would love to have more of these to follow over time.
Perfect match with rack of lamb and made for a memorable meal

September 26, 2021 - Dark purple, very light bricking, perfect cork. This was the best example of my least favorite wine in the Cayuse lineup. Fruit seemed to be brighter and rounder than previous examples, including this same wine ~9 months ago. Decently long finish with mineral notes. Still not as complex as their others cabs or syrahs which are typically flat-out awesome.

August 23, 2021 - Opened in the bottle for several hours. Maybe a year or so past prime though did fatten up a bit after two hours. Low acid, translucent rim and dark yet bricking color. Bitter green on the nose that also makes it into the palate with the addition of some ripe blackberry, plum and dark chocolate. Not bad but each vintage this is my least favorite in the Cayuse lineup. Drink now as these won’t improve. Purchased at the Ex Cellar through Cayuse.

June 24, 2021 - Popped and poured. Lots of blackberry fruit, with just a touch of that Cayuse Funk (from the Syrah I imagine). Have never tasted this wine before, let alone this particular vintage, so this was a completely new experience. I'll say that, while I love Cayuse Syrahs and their Widowmaker Cab, this was a "like it, don't love it" wine for me. Quite pricey too...I'd rather pop a bottle of Armada personally. Drink now - 2027.
