Community Tasting Notes 7

July 30, 2017 - Had started to oxidize, fruit diminished and muted nose.
Should have poured this about 6 months earlier and it would have been a better representation of when I tasted it in the winery.

April 14, 2017 - Almost opaque in the glass. Figs, and vanilla on the nose. Dark fruit, mint and pepper lead to a long, delicate finish. Yum.

December 8, 2016 - Coffee, nutmeg, dark fruit on nose. Nicely balanced with soft tannins on med-long finish. Subtle, not overpowering - lovely.

February 11, 2015 - Very deep (not opaque) garnet red with purple hues. Still developing with a nose of black fruit, coffee, mint, leather, Christmas cake and cooking spices - very nice intensity (med +). On the palate the tannins are med + and dry. Black cherry, blue berry, some red currant, kirsch and loads of pepper. The alcohol is high and the wine full bodied, but the mid palate seems a bit thin. The finish is med +, almost long. This is an excellent wine with lots of Syrah character on the nose and palate. Very fruit forward, perhaps a tad early. I'd give it 2 more years before is really opens up.

January 16, 2015 - bright red fruit, vanilla, dark chocolate, sweet, tightly integrated tannins, hint of bacon. Bright acidity. Surprisingly ripe for such a challenging year. Many years ahead of it.
