December 30, 2014 - A Barbera from the deep end of the pool. Very deep, inky garnet. Nice nose of hard spices, blackberries, black cherries, and a hint of mint. Thick and rich on the palate, as may befit the rather hot weather that year; it's meaty and extracted. Texture is not tart, includes a syrup note. Finishes with some heat, low grip, near-zero tannins. They seem to have thrown restraint out the window on this one. It's intense, dark, brooding. Maybe too much.
